Often jobs at a ski area are a mini crash-course in Life Skills – from meeting the needs of our guests to connecting with fellow workers who can both come from all parts of the world with a myriad of perspectives and cultural views that differ from ours. This is an opportunity to take our skills and awareness to the next level. When we find ourselves triggered by a situation, the first recognition is that we get “into the story” and out of the present moment. In the present moment there can only be perfection. If we drag in the past we have old baggage that can make us feel sad, angry, depressed and victimized. If we jump to the future we are full of fear, anxiety, panic, and feelings of overwhelm.
