Feeling Irritated?

Everyone feels irritated, annoyed or angry in moments.  If you find this crops up constantly or doesn’t dissolve relatively quickly, you may be stuck in incorrect focus.  To correct our focus simply requires looking at something from a different perspective.  A quick shift, so to speak.

Bell Archway in SnowHaving something annoying happen in our lives can be an everyday occurrence.  If we can recall when something like this turned out to be a blessing, – like forgetting something in the house and having to go back in which caused you see that you left the water boiling on the stove – we can shift how we feel in a second.

Let’s look at the familiar path of the oyster when it ingests sand each time it drinks from the ocean and then spits out most of the sand – not being too bothered by it.   Every once in a while the oyster chooses a piece of sand that could be something beautiful and a pearl is born.  Think of all the pearls in your life that began with annoyance, irritation or even anger.   When we shift the focus and aren’t too bothered by the sand thus giving it far less energy, we can allow our lives to create the pearls we marvel at.   Getting our stress level down is paramount to this occurrence.

Letting go of the stress, pain, sadness, grief, trauma, and depression in our lives requires tools to override all the beliefs we’ve been fed that no longer serve us in making healthy choices. These beliefs originate from our environment, experiences, school, television, work, and family. When you told a teacher that you didn’t understand a concept, were you accused of being unfocused, inattentive, or even stupid?  Did you develop the belief that you were broken and needed to be fixed?

In working with Energy Healing Techniques, I have learned otherwise—specifically, that none of us are broken and none of us needs to be fixed. I believe that we try to make the best choices in our lives based on the information we have available to us in the moment. We make what appears to be the “best” choice and then a moment later, seeing the results, we have more feedback information to use that may help us to make a different choice. Simply, when we are overloaded with stress, we don’t/can’t/won’t make good choices. Stress throws us into the modality of fear.  When we choose from a place of fear, fearful outcomes result each and every time.
