We all believe we are on a schedule and we control it… so what is happening when we try to do something and the pieces don’t fall into place or roadblocks suddenly appear? What about our reaction – feeling frustrated or angry that it isn’t happening?
Sometimes we get so focused on checking things off our list, we forget that there is some other energy playing out here. In a hurry to get to work and a flat tire will slow that process down. Trying to make it into town 5 minutes before the post office closes, and you get behind the person driving 20 in a 35 and it’s a double yellow. Working till midnight to be able to say you had a productive day…and then when your head hits the pillow, your mind won’t hush. Stop, review and BREATHE. Enough swimming upstream.
When it seems that the timing just isn’t there (after all, timing is everything) it might be time to trust the process, realize there may be a really good reason you can’t make it on time, or that age-old wisdom – “You are right where you need to be.” If this perspective seems worlds away for you, maybe it is time to get some of the stuff off your plate so you feel that you can breathe and reflect on the pace of your life.
