Talk to Yourself?

Somehow the play (and then movie) Shirley Valentine gave many permission to talk to themselves out loud.  In fact, I remember shopping in a grocery store in the late 80’s and I was talking to myself about the crackers I would buy.  When I looked up a man was watching me (with a smile on his face) and I said “Shirley Valentine” and he burst into a wide grin and said, “Wasn’t that a great movie?”  I believe that movie did more for understanding the expanded mindset than all the self-help books to date at that time.

Could ‘talking to ourselves’ have a different meaning that we are grasping now?  When we talk to ourselves, it creates a stream of consciousness in our body/mind.  The avenue may not be as exquisite as meditation, however, it often leads to developing intuition.  We have energy around us all the time and when we create a stream of consciousness it can lead to claircognizant revelations (knowing facts without knowing how you received the information) and open us to deeper, spiritual knowledge of our connection to something larger than ourselves.

How do we know we are being intuitive and not just loopy?  When we have conversations about our feelings and thoughts and listen to the replies of the energy that some call ascended masters, teachers, and angels, we notice repetitive positive impressions, signs, and signals within our body/mind.  When we act on them, often the outcome is amazing in its scope.

We must have a clear runway for the knowledge to come in…and repeating patterns that don’t work for us will clog things up quickly.  It is important for us to do our personal work and recognize when we are doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result – the SSDD syndrome (same stuff, different day).  We need to get off the merry go round and release the pattern within us that keeps the wheel going.  Once we have released it, we have space and opportunity to try one of the repetitive positive impressions, signs, and signals we have been receiving from our guides.  Self-awareness and the desire to create more positive patterns in our lives is the goal we all strive for.

    Good stuff in this blog…very useful to me right now. It seems we have more wreckage of the past to clean out, and some present day stuff too. Strangely, or not, since I have been sharing with my sponsor and former sponsor about this mind/body connection, my pain has diminished somewhat. This confirms the awareness part, doesn’t it?
